All you need to know about Docoss X1

A Jaipur based company has set to shakeup the smartphone market segment on the cost front. Docoss Multimedia Private Limited has proudly announced the release of a new Android smartphone at Rs. 888. Known to be as Docoss X1, this model would be available for delivery for all pre orders made from the company’s website starting from May 2. However, there has been no confirmation mail received for the order mentioning the shipping or delivery date. Also the company would be charging an extra Rs. 99 for shipping.

Talking of specifications, the new Docoss X1 features a display of 4 inches, with a resolution of 400*480 pixels, 1 GB RAM, dual core Cortex-A7 and 1.2 GHz processor, inbuilt storage of 4 GB that can be expanded up to 32 GB via MicroSD card, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, 1300 mAh battery, front facing camera of 0.3 megapixel and 2 megapixel rear camera and an Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The device weighs about 102 grams and it measures 122.2*64.4*9.3 mm. Although the company’s listings have a mention of 4G connectivity, sources have confirmed that the device offers only 3G and has dual sim slots as well.

The booking for this smartphone was open only till April 29 up to 10 PM. Docoss was also taking orders through SMS and users had to type in their name, address and postal code and send the SMS. Users did not require paying any money while pre booking the device since they were offered with cash on delivery option. The company also has a Facebook page that is full of comments and messages from users wishing to know more of the smartphone and the procedure for making a booking. Given that no one has heard of this company before, however it claims to be featured on Mashable, The Verge etc., so if you check the webcache Google page, there may be a few doubts being raised regarding its authenticity.

Docoss X1 Real Images

Docoss had shared pictures of X1 smartphone on Twitter and the company’s tweet cautioned users not to panic since the four images posted were real phone images. Also in its Facebook post, the company has shard unboxing the smartphone and its hands on video. From the video, it is clear that Docoss X1 would come with USB data cable and earphones. Also, they have mentioned in the video that the smartphone would only be available in black color.
